The official name ot Wakamiya Shrine is Wakamiya Yonsha Great Myojin and neighboring Hozo-ji Temple is the companion temple for this. According to the oral instruction, because of struggle for power of the village in Hayashi Shrine the locals received Sanno Shrine from Funage Village and opened Wakamiya Shrine in 1585.
