25.Mr. Kaimon Hozo-ji temple

Funage・Hayashi

Hozo-ji Temple was openea in 1396 and its main image is the statue of Vaishuravana which is said to have been lifted up trom. the Shika-no-se fishery. This Temple is one of Mitsuzoin temple – affiliated temples of Shingon sect and was called Saizobo temple.
It was used as a church during Takayama Ukon’s ruling Funage. A cross buried in the wall shows the belief in those days. Most buildings including the main hall of it were burned down in the air raid in 1945.
But only the mud-walled storehouse narrowly escapen being burned down. Hozo-ji temple suffered war damage but it was rebuilt after the war.
