Hayashi Shrine existed in the Heian period and was one of good lineage Shrines in Akashi County. In the beginning, this was called Uenomiya and became Uenomiya Shrine atterward. Because of the transmission that it rained after the praying for rain when they suffered from drought in the summer of 922, this was called Shrine to pray for rain too.
