
According to Gokoku-ji temple affiliated Mitsuzoin temple’s own history, it is the big temple belonging to Daikaku-ji temple group of Shingon sect and opened in 904. In the Writing of Daitoku-ji temple, it is written that Hayashisaki Village in Gokano sho of Harima belonged to the Territories of the ex-Emperor Go-Uda connected with Daikaku-ji tempte. Many Buddhism students of the group of Daikakn-ji temple might gather at Mitsuzoin temple. It seemed to be known as the esoteric Buddhism school that gave the Buddhist monks engaged in ascetic practices the rank in Higashi Harima. The priest Zoun was said to be the second coming of Priest Kobo Daishi and came from Kokuzoin temple, present Yoda-ji temple in Kagawa Prefecture. He was a famous medieval donation priest of Shingon sect and appealed for fands of recovery of Mitsuzoin Temple in 1413. Emmei Jizo and Jundei Kannon, the main images of Mitsuzein temple, were burned down in the air raid in 1945. Now its main images are Dainichi Nyorai and Jizo Bodhisattva.
