When the bridge was built the village was very happy and named it Taikan Bridge. They allocated suitable Kanji for the name. Afterward the Kanji was replaced another Kanji Taikan that means the great appearance.
The old route from the west end of the bridge was not present broad road but the old Saigoku Highway that goes north to Nishishin- machi.
