After the Battle of Sekigahara Ikeda Yoshiyuki, the titular lord of Dewa, who was Ikeda Terumasa’s nephew became the lord of Funage. He built levee to protect Funage from the flood of the Akashi River and planted pine trees on it.
People called it Mr Dewa’s Levee. Now it becomes a part of cygig road. By the way, district Dewa was present Yamagata Prefecture and Akita Prefecture.
