The Takahama River is a boundary between Hayashi area and Takahama area, also was once called the Jiyu River or the Free River. Hayashisaki Bridge was called Jiyu Bridge or Free Bridge. The boundary was on the extended line of the main approach of Hayashi Shrine, so it seemed that the Jiyu River meant the river no one could own.
