The ferryboat lanes between Akashi City and Awaji Island also between Awaji Island and Naruto City opened to traffic as a part of Route 28 in 1954. People can drive to Shikoku through Awaji Island from Honshu.
Afterward, the ferryboat landing was moved out of the port of Akashi, but we can see the trace now.
