Ikeda Yoshiyuki, the lord of Funage, improved the port of Funage and built the break water about 220m in length at the mouth of the Funage River in the Edo period. It is under the water now. When the tide is out we can see the clests of waves over the breakwater. In those days, people of Hayashisaki Village thought that the lord tried To build a bridge to Awaji Island.
