23.旧波門崎石灯籠堂

明暦めいれき3(1657)年に五代城主松平忠国ただくにが建立しました。現存する石造の燈台とうだいとしては日本最古のものです。  
昭和38年に光源を撤去するまで、 306年間も使われていました。石垣は隙間のない「合あい端ば合あわせ」という手法で綺き麗れいに積み上げられています。 

23.The old Hatozaki Lantern Tower 
Matsudaira Tadakuni, the 5^th feudal lord of the Akashi domain, established this in 1657. This is the oldest existing stone lantern tower in Japan. It had been used for 306 years till its light source was removed in 1963. Its stone foundation was laid skillfully in abutment joint that was no gap.
