16.あっち向いてる鳥居

青龍神社へ上がると右 (東）側に鳥居があり、一見社殿に対してあっち向いてるように見えますが、鳥居には「遙拝処ようはいしょ」と書かれてあります。鳥居は東南東に向いておりますので伊勢神宮を遠く離れて拝む所かも知れません。

The torii faces the wrong direction.

When we go up to Seiryu Shrine we can see the torii on our right or on the east. Though it seems to face the wrong direction at first grance, the words “the place to worship the distance" are written on it. Because the torii faces east-south-east, it seems to be the place to worship Ise Shrine far away.
