10.瓦葺の塀に縁起物

長屋門ながやもんに付属ふぞくした塀の隅瓦すみがわらに縁起物として重宝がられている「鷹たか」があります。獲物えものを捕とらえた姿は鈍く銀色に光り、瓦職人の遊び心が見られます。塀の縁起物は、福をもたらし「子孫繁栄・出世」を願うなどの意味があるそうです。

A hawk-shaped ridge-end roof tile is on the wall of the main house that attaches the nagaya-mon, the mansion's gate attached row houses on both sides. The hawk is a popular good-luck talisman. This is a design with a playful spirit of the roof tile craftsman and a leadenly silvery hawk is catching its prey. It is said that the good-luck talisman on the wall means to bring happiness and pray for owner’s posterity and success.
