この辺りの邸宅は、大正末期から昭和初期に建てられました。蔵は家相で乾蔵（母屋の西北）が権威や名誉を守るのに良いとされ、また巽蔵（母屋の東南）も信用を得るのに良いとされています。明石では乾蔵が最も一般的です。
