昭和24年の駅前大火で多くの建物が延焼し、その教訓として銅板で外壁を覆う建物が多く建てられました。この緑色の外壁を持つ建物もその一つです。上から見ると八角形の形で、明石港の風情にアクセントを加えています。
36.A coppered building
In 1949, a lot of buildings were destroyed by a bog fire around JR Akashi station. And then, many people built their buildings coppered to stop the spread of a fire. This building with green outer wall is one of them. Its ground plan is the octagon and it has an outstanding look in atmosphere of the port of Akashi.
