22.煉瓦塀

　町の奥へ入って行くと煉瓦塀を見かけます。大蔵では煉瓦も製造されていました。基き礎そや塀によく使われています。イギリス積み(平方向と小口方向を１段ずつ積み上げていく)で塀を築きずいているのがわかります。

22.The brick wall
We find the brick wall at the depths of Okura town. Brick as well as pottery was made at Okura.
Brick was well used for the foundation of building and the wall. This wall was laid in English bond, which is the way of laying stretcher’s row and header’s row alternately.
