【まめ知識02】小神社

明石城下の海浜地区一体には、岩屋神社をはじめ、伊い弉ざな冊み神社、（伊弉冊神社の）御お旅所たびしょ、伊い弉ざな諾ぎ神社、若宮神社など、大小の神社が和多く点在しています。
これら神社の参道は海に向かってまっすぐ伸びています。神社の祭神は海や川に因ちなむことが多いという点からも、わたつみ（海神のこと）の神社であることは容易に想像できます。
玉垣たまがきが巡めぐる大きな神社は、古い由緒ゆいしょを持つ氏神うじがみ様さまとして地域の信仰を集めています。一方、小さな神社（小神社）は地じ主神ぬしがみとして、まちなかにひっそりと祀られています。
小神社の祭神さいじんは様々ですが、祠ほこらを守る人々の様々な願いのニーズがそこに反映はんえいされています。小神社は規模も小さいため、拝殿はいでんを設けるまでもなく簡かん素そな造りです。
拝殿がない代わりに、大抵の小神社には献けん花かや供く物もつ等などを備えるための献台けんだいが設けてあることに気が付きます。献台は聖俗せいぞくのささやかな結界となっています。
